Feb 3, 2020
Category: News

A transition period has started on February 1, 2020, it should normally end on December 31, 2020. During this period, there will be no change for your European IP rights (European Union trademark, Community design and International Trademark and Design covering the EU) and for their protection in the United Kingdom. Your existing rights and the new European applications still cover the UK.

At the end of the transition period, your existing European Trademarks and Community design will have continued protection in the UK. The UK intellectual Property Office will convert your registered rights. Regarding the applications which are ongoing at the time of the end of the transition period, you will have a period of 9 months to convert your rights in the UK.

Please note that European Patents are not European Union rights and are not concerned by the BREXIT.
