Starting from January 1st, 2023, European patent applicants will have the possibility to request that the issuance of the decision to grant be delayed until the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court enters into force (expected 1st of April 2023). This transitional measure enables patents which should have been granted shortly before the entry into force of this Agreement to participate in it nonetheless.
